Solemn Strikes the Funeral Chime...

Brethren,

 

We have lost a Past Master of Amity Lodge.  Worshipful Br. Donald Thomas Warning passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2015.  His family has requested Masonic Funeral Rites at his wake which will take place on Wednesday July 1, 2015.

 

The plan is as follows:

  • We will meet at Amity Lodge @ 6pm for a few words and a quick practice run of Masonic Funeral Rituals.

  • From Amity, we will head over to the Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home @ 6:45pm

  • Memorial Services start at 7pm

  • Masonic Services start at approximately 7:30pm.

 

His obituary reads:

 

Donald Thomas Warning, age 77, of Aurora, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015. He was born on September 24, 1937 in Antigo, WI to Arnold and Dorothy Warning. Tom graduated from West Chicago Community High School in 1955 and was a US Navy Veteran. He was united in marriage to Nancy Anne Saeck. Tom worked for 32 years with the railroad which included 18 years with the Chicago Northwestern. He was a member of Amity Lodge #472 AF & AM of West Chicago, Fox Valley Chapter Batavia O.E.S. Lodge #265 and 33rd degree Scottish Rite. He enjoyed reading fiction, watching Nascar, watching football and was a Green Bay Packer fan.

 
Tom is survived by his wife, of almost 60 years, Nancy; children, Sandra (Barry) Turnquist and Tim Warning; grandchildren, Leslie Anne Castillo-Warning, Mary Catherine (Joshua) Lundquist and Brian James Turnquist; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Adelaide; brother, Charles “Butch” (Judy) Warning; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

 

He is preceded in death by his parents.

 

Worshipful Brother Warning's Masonic life started on Tuesday, May 21, 1968 when he was initiated as an Entered Apprentice at Newport Lodge #118 in St. Paul Park, MN. He was passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on Wednesday December 8, 1971 and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on Tuesday February 1, 1972.

 

On Wednesday September 20, 1972 Br Warning was elected for affiliation with Amity Lodge #472 in West Chicago, IL where he went on to serve as Worshipful Master in 1982.

 

Such ends the life of a just and upright Mason.

 

Worshipful Br. Warning, may it now be your portion to hear from Him who sitteth as Judge Supreme, the welcome words, "Well done, thou good and faithful Servant. Enter thou into the joy of the Lord."
