RIP, W. Br. John "Jack" MacNerland

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of Br. John "Jack" MacNerland.

Br. MacNerland's career as a Mason is long and storied. He was elected to be initiated into the Fraternity on Wednesday, February 7, 1973; initiated as an Entered Apprentice on March 21, 1973; passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on April 14, 1973 and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on May 9, 1973.

He served as an officer of Amity Lodge throughout the years and worked his way up the ranks until serving as Worshipful Master of the lodge in 1990. He spent a little time on the sidelines of the lodge before rolling his sleeves back up and reentering the fray! He served as Junior Warden of the Lodge in 2009 and as Senior Warden in 2010.

In March of 2016 he became a member of Men in Botherhood, where he continued his efforts with the Craft.

Br MacNerland was also a member of the Medinah Shrine and he was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.

He will be missed by all.

Br. MacNerland, as your spirit stands before the great White Throne, may it be your portion to hear from Him, who sitteth as the Judge Supreme, the welcome words: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant! Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."
